Concert Rules and Expectations (For 7:00 P.M. Performances)

Students:
  • Are on the risers ready for a sound check at 6:30 P.M. unless notified of an earlier time. If students have a problem with transportation, they will communicate with director and students prior to performance to arrange to have a ride.
  • Are properly attired (see attire). If students have a problem with attire, they will communicate with director and students prior to performance to arrange to have the correct attire.
  • Follow audience etiquette when not performing (not talking, not using electronic devices, not moving/leaving during selections)
  • Remain for entire performance (most performances are around one hour)
  • Will help put things away after performance and are responsible to make sure folder ends up in appropriate slot and robe is hanging in the closet.
Failure to follow part or all of these rules and expectations will result in a reduced grade for that performance.

Attire

Because performances are special, formal occasions, regular clothing such as t-shirts and jeans are not appropriate. Many weeks of hard preparation go into the performance and the final presentation begins with looking our very best. It is important to follow the guidelines to make a positive visual as well as aural presentation. These guidelines are required of all performances unless otherwise notified.
Note: If purchasing dress clothes are a financial burden, please contact the director in advance.
  • Concert Dress – Communicate with Mr. Ellerston two months prior to an event if this a financial burden.
Men – Black Dress Pants/Khakis, Dress Shirt (button up), Black dress shoes, tie (optional)
Women – Black Pants and/or dress, Black shoes (close-toe), NO HEELS
